Bahrain’s National Committee to Control Smoking receives World No Tobacco Day 2022 Award

Manama, July 6 (BNA) The Regional Director of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, awarded the Bahraini National Committee for Combating Smoking and all types and products of tobacco with the World Health Organization award for World No Tobacco Day 2022.

Al-Mandhari referred to the advanced level achieved by Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the field of health and medical care, and the role of the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister for his support through the advanced level of healthcare during COVID-19.

He said that this award comes as a result of the Kingdom’s efforts to implement programs consistent with the National Tobacco Control Plan (2018-2030) to achieve sustainable development goals and launch smoking cessation clinics in health care facilities.

Al-Mandhari praised Bahrain’s efforts to combat smoking and the committee’s efforts to control the dangers of tobacco in the Kingdom.
