Bahrain’s KHK team wins Al Maktoum Cup 30-foot rowing race for second straight year

Dubai, December 24 (BNA) The representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Team KHK, was crowned the champion of the 30-foot rowing race in the Al Maktoum Cup, which is organized by the Dubai International Marine Club in the Dubai Water Canal today.

Led by Nakhuda Ahmed Naser Al Basmit, the team also won the previous edition of the most expensive cup for the traditional Gulf sport of rowing.

The second representative of Bahrain, “Victorius”, finished the race in seventh place.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Traditional Sports Committee of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Khalifa Abdullah Al-Qaoud, said that the victory confirms the distinguished level reached by traditional sports in Bahrain, indicating that it is an unshakable outcome. The support of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Action and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and President of the General Sports Authority. The Authority and the President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
