Bahrain’s efforts to protect workers stressed

Manama, April 27 (BNA): Labor Minister Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, Chairman of the Occupational Safety and Health Council, praised the development of Bahraini legislation and laws in protecting the workforce from all types of accidents, injuries and occupational diseases. He stressed the increasing importance that the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attaches to promoting occupational health and safety.

In a statement on the occasion of the International Day for Safety and Health at Work, which falls on April 28, the Minister of Labor affirmed that occupational safety and health indicators over the past years reflect the great national efforts made in this context to ensure work safety and security. A stable work environment for all workers.

The minister emphasized the importance of addressing the causes of occupational accidents at work sites. He pointed out that preventive measures, monitoring of occupational health and safety supervisors at work sites, and the use of appropriate and safe equipment are necessary to prevent unfortunate work accidents.

The Minister of Labor called on employers to take advantage of the International Day for Safety and Health at Work to further strengthen worker protection at all levels to preserve and develop human resources in a safe and stable labor market.
