Bahrain’s efforts to promote occupational safety highlighted

Manama, April 27 (BNA): The Ministry of Labor and Social Development is intensifying its efforts to ensure a safe environment for workers.

According to the ministry’s updated statistics, over the past three years, more than 37,000 inspection visitors have been transferred to worksites to check compliance with regulations.

The Minister of Labor and Social Development, Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, affirmed the steps of the Kingdom of Bahrain in updating the national legislation related to the training of workers in the field of safety.

He pointed out that “advanced national legislation and laws have protected workers from all types of occupational accidents and diseases, and contributed to promoting a safe and stable work environment, which is one of the requirements and pillars of recovery and economic growth.”

He stressed the government’s keenness, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance occupational safety and health at work sites.

This came in a statement on the occasion of the annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work on April 28, which promotes the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally.


The World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2022 focuses on promoting social dialogue towards a culture of safety and health.

The minister urged employers to strengthen labor protection in order to preserve and develop advanced human resources in a safe and stable labor market, which will positively affect production efficiency.
