Bahrain wins Global Innovation Award for Convention and Conference Centres

Frankfurt, June 2 (BNA): The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and Bahrain World Exhibitions (EWB) have won the 2021 Global Innovation Award for the Hall of Fame Events 2021 for convention and conference centers in the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. The Kingdom also won the “New Construction” award at IMEX 2022, which is being held in Germany.


Dr. Nasser Kaidi, CEO of BTEA confirmed that this prestigious award is a testament to the Tourism Authority’s leadership in innovation in the tourism and conference sector at the regional and global levels.


Kaidi added that winning this international award highlights the Kingdom’s success in establishing and operating one of the largest regional exhibition and conference centers in the world. He stated that this aims to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a leading destination for tourism events and attract investments and future tourism events.


The CEO emphasized that winning the award reflects the success of the Bahrain Tourism Authority in achieving the Kingdom’s visions in establishing one of the largest conference and exhibition halls in the region according to international standards. He stated that such efforts will support Bahrain’s position as a destination for international conferences, investments and tourism.


Dr. Kaidi stressed that the authority’s work team is dedicated to innovation and creativity, especially in the fields of care and hospitality.


Eventseum Hall of Fame Executive Director Art Moldavia Schusmann said that the global jury of Eventseum described EWB as one of the most ambitious tourism infrastructure projects in the Middle East. She added that the center is expected to provide unprecedented impetus to the exhibition and events industry across the region, while demonstrating enormous potential and innovation on many levels in terms of design and operation.

The authority’s delegation also participated in the IMEX exhibition, which presented the Kingdom of Bahrain’s advanced tourism infrastructure and tourism potential, in addition to the ambitious goals contained in the Bahrain Tourism Strategy 2022-2026.
