Bahrain-UAE forum to identify ways to manage challenges in media’s volatile environment

Manama, October 19 (BNA): The future of media amid the global pandemic and the crisis of confidence in the media among Arab youth will be highlighted at a Bahraini-Emirati forum seen as an “exceptional opportunity to identify ways in which the media” can come together to confront The main challenges.

Wednesday’s forum will also provide a platform for dialogue on the current state of Arab media and the shifts set to shape the future of the industry, the role of social media influencers in developing impactful content and sharing inspiring stories from the region.

The one-day Emirati-Bahraini Media Forum, organized by the Dubai Press Club (DPC) in cooperation with the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA), will be held virtually.

Minister of Information Ali bin Mohammed Al-Rumaihi will deliver the keynote speech at the first media forum jointly organized by the UAE and Bahrain.

The Dubai Press Club said that DPC Chair and Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) Mona Al Marri, President of BJA Essa Al Shayj and Director of DPC Maitha Buhumaid will participate in the forum.

“We are pleased that the Bahraini Minister of Information has joined us as a keynote speaker at the forum,” Al-Marri said.

The event participants will have the opportunity to hear his vision drawn from his rich experience and vision. The UAE-Bahrain Media Forum is being hosted at a time of great turmoil in the industry due to the pandemic, which has prompted many news media outlets to rethink their business models.”

She added that the forum will provide an exceptional opportunity to identify ways in which the media can come together to address the major challenges facing the industry and enhance the content landscape in the region.

Buhumaid said that the Dubai Press Club is pleased to welcome the participants in the first Emirati-Bahraini media forum.
