Bahrain, UAE discuss labour market development experiences

Abu Dhabi, Jan. 16 (BNA): Minister of Labor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, headed a delegation to the UAE that included the CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, Nof Abdul Rahman Jamsheer. The visit aims to activate the memorandum of understanding between the two brotherly countries in the field of manpower and human resources.


Minister Humaidan held a meeting with the Emirati Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Manan Al Awar, in the presence of senior Emirati officials.


During the meeting, the two countries’ policies to develop the labor market and human resources were highlighted.


The Minister of Labor affirmed the depth of the Bahraini-Emirati relations, which are progressing steadily under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State.


He stressed the importance of exchanging information and enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of work and developing and qualifying human cadres for the benefit of citizens in the two brotherly countries.


In this regard, he referred to the initiatives implemented by the Kingdom to accelerate the pace of employment and rehabilitation of citizens and their integration in the private sector through incentives and procedures that enhance the priority of Bahrainis in employment and mechanisms for implementing unemployment insurance. Call for more cooperation and coordination of positions between the two brotherly countries in various regional, Arab and international events and conferences.

He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Labor in caring for the rights of the workforce and providing social protection for job seekers and workers by strengthening the unemployment insurance system.


The Emirati minister also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and exchanging experiences between the GCC countries in the fields of the labor market, especially the development of professional standards currently applied in the two brotherly countries, and work to advance progress.
