Bahrain tourism to be promoted at London’s World Travel Market

Manama, November 5 (BNA) The Ministry of Tourism is participating in the “World Travel Market” exhibition in London, which is scheduled to be held from November 7 to 9.

The market is the largest international travel and tourism event of its kind in the world and one of the best international forums to attend that focus on the global tourism industry.

The Bahraini pavilion at the forum extends over an area of ​​266 square meters, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and the national carrier Gulf Air.

The pavilion will present the latest offerings in tourism, travel and air transport offerings, in addition to a presentation of potential investment opportunities in various sectors across the Kingdom by the Economic Development Board (EDB).

The pavilion will include the participation of an elite group of the private tourism sector, represented by The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, The Westin Hotel, Le Meridien City Center Bahrain, Farhat Tours, Al Areen Palace Resort & Spa, Best of Bahrain, Visit Bahrain, and Jumeirah Bahrain Bay Resort & Spa.

Tourism Minister Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Sirafi will hold several sub-meetings with tourism industry leaders representing the public and private sectors – including ministers and officials. It will also participate in high-level meetings with officials of the World Tourism Organization.

On the second day of the conference, Al-Serafi will give a special presentation to the attendees on the developments of the tourism industry in Bahrain. The offer is presented in conjunction with the Kingdom’s tourism strategy 2022-2026.

The minister said that the participants from the ministry and BTEA in the trade fair, will work to enhance the development and potential of the tourism sector in Bahrain.

She stressed the ministry’s readiness for this exhibition, which will bring together the most famous names in the field of hospitality and tourism.

The Minister of Tourism revealed that the ministry will also work on signing more direct trade agreements as well as bilateral and joint memoranda. This objective is in addition to getting acquainted with the latest developments in the fields of travel, tourism, investment, air transport and modern travel technologies and their usefulness to the Kingdom.

Al-Serafy said that this participation will strengthen Bahrain as one of the newest exhibition centers in the Middle East.

Other events from the Bahraini tourist season will also be promoted, including the Bahrain Grand Prix, which will run from March 3 to 5, 2023. The ministry is keen to build on the success of last season, with nearly 100,000 visitors attending the race, with international visitors making up the Almost half of spectators, indicating a 50% increase in total international tourists in F1, compared to 2019.

The minister said that the Kingdom of Bahrain, by attending this conference, confirms its commitment to developing the tourism industry at the global level.

She stated that the ministry will work to develop ties with countries and tourism organizations around the world, adding that it is keen to enhance international cooperation in the field of tourism and travel.
