Manama, May 12 (BNA) The Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health and Vice-Chairman of the National AIDS Committee, Dr. Maryam Al-Hajri, affirmed the distinguished efforts made by the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance awareness of ways to combat AIDS. She indicated that the formation of the National AIDS Control Committee headed by the Minister of Health reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to the United Nations Convention in this regard, and its keenness to enhance prevention through various plans and strategies.
This came during a press conference organized by the committee today to review the main chapters of the first Bahrain International Medical Conference on AIDS, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain on September 22 and 23, 2022 under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Supreme Council of Health Lieutenant-General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. The event will bring together a group of international experts in the fight against AIDS. A large number of doctors and specialists from Bahrain and the whole world will also participate in this event, which confirms the pioneering steps taken by the Kingdom in upgrading the health sector.
