Bahrain to mark Gulf Day for Healthy Cities on March 1

Manama, February 28 (BNA) Bahrain joins other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to celebrate Gulf Healthy Cities Day, which is celebrated annually on March 1.

The health ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries developed an action strategy (2022-2026) to strengthen joint programs and projects aimed at intensifying health cooperation and promoting healthy cities.

The joint Gulf campaign is also in line with the prevention programs established by the World Health Organization to protect the population through sustainable urban development.

With the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Ministry of Health has intensified its efforts to implement the Healthy Citizens Program at the state level.

Umm Al-Hassam and Manama were classified as healthy cities in 2018 and 2021, respectively. A’ali is also expected to meet the city’s health requirements and join Umm Al Hassam and Manama,
