Bahrain submits membership request to PAM

Rome, June 7 (BNA): Dr. Jihad Abdullah Al-Fadhel, the second deputy speaker of the Bahraini Shura Council, submitted a request for membership of the Bahraini parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean during her participation in the 49th meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly Bureau. .


She affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s interest in joining parliamentary alliances in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Bahraini parliamentary diplomacy approach based on the values ​​of moderation and openness at the national level.


The President of the Parliamentary Assembly emphasized the prominent role as a leading parliamentary organization, stressing the importance of cooperation with regional and international stakeholders.


Dr. Al-Fadil praised the efforts of the Parliamentary Assembly in identifying and addressing the most prominent global challenges facing member states, expressing the parliamentary delegation’s interest in supporting those efforts.


The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) is an international organization founded in 2005 by the national parliaments of the countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region.


The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) granted permanent observer status to the Mediterranean Parliament during its sixty-fourth session in December 2009.


PAM is headquartered in Naples, Italy and is currently led by the President of the Moroccan Council of Advisors, Inaam Mayara, for the term 2023-2024.
