Bahrain reiterates support to Palestinian issue

New York, September 21 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani met today at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York. Expatriate and Expatriate Affairs in the State of Palestine, Dr. Riyad Al-Malki, on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the strength of the brotherly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Palestine, which are based on solid foundations of mutual respect.

The minister also expressed his pride in the development of relations, in light of the two countries’ keenness to advance cooperation in a way that meets common aspirations.

He reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s supportive and firm stance for the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and on the basis of the two states. The solution and the relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

For his part, the Palestinian minister praised Bahrain’s supportive stances for the Palestinian cause, praising His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state.

He expressed his appreciation for the close bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and their keenness to develop bilateral cooperation to serve their common interests, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.

The meeting also discussed developments in the political situation in the region, the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, in addition to a number of issues of common interest.

The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Jamal Faris Al-Ruwaie, and the delegation accompanying the minister.
