Bahrain participates in Middle East 4th Government Forum to Combat Trafficking in Persons  

Doha, May 17 (BNA): Bahrain participated in the fourth government forum to combat human trafficking in the Middle East, which was held here.

The Bahraini delegation included representatives of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, the Public Prosecution Office, the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs, and the Ministry of Interior.

The delegation stressed the need to make maximum efforts, update regulations and procedures regularly, and expand tools to combat the crime of human trafficking. It urged greater vigilance in tracing the patterns and conditions of human trafficking. She indicated that human trafficking is usually more active during the usually busy tourist seasons.

The forum highlighted Bahrain’s efforts to combat human trafficking.

Specialized organizations from the GCC countries, Egypt, Jordan, the United States, the United Kingdom and the International Organization for Migration participated in the forum.
