Bahrain participates in high-level climate finance roundtable

Rabat, April 30 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, Youssef Abdullah Hammoud, participated in a high-level round table meeting on climate financial policies to achieve sustainable transformation, on the sidelines of the joint annual meetings of Arab financial institutions held in Rabat, Morocco. .

The workshop was organized by the Arab Monetary Fund, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank Group.

The workshop discussed defining the most important financial and monetary policies adopted to face climate challenges, and the role of governments in reducing climate challenges, and achieving an immediate response to address them.

The workshop also touched on the role of regional and international financial institutions in supporting Arab countries to confront climate change and achieve sustainability through optimal investment in clean energy technologies, and finding innovative solutions to provide companies and individuals with energy efficiency improvements to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. .

The workshop discussed developing strategies and solutions to manage climate risks and stressed the importance of cooperation in developing and implementing projects to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
