Bahrain keen to enhance joint GCC action, achievements: Foreign Minister



Manama, May 25 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to maximize the achievements of the Gulf Cooperation Council, within the framework of continuous cooperation and coordination between the leaders of the GCC countries.

In a statement, Dr. Al-Zayani offered his warmest congratulations to the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the Cooperation Council.

He also congratulated the leaders of the GCC states on the successive achievements made by the bloc as a model of strategic integration between its member states and brotherly peoples, thanks to the geographical and civilizational rapprochement between them and the common religion, blood, history, language and common destiny.

Dr. Al-Zayani pointed out that the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are inspired by the approach of the founding fathers, in their keenness to maintain strength, cohesion and unity among the member states, in order to achieve more coordination and interdependence in all fields, in a greater way. To meet the aspirations of the peoples of the brotherly bloc for more security, stability, progress and prosperity.

The foreign minister expressed Bahrain’s pride in diplomacy and its adherence to the approach of His Majesty the wise King, and the government’s policies led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aimed at advancing the GCC system. To remain an active and influential force in promoting regional and global security and peace in accordance with a sound foreign policy that is committed to supporting just Arab and Islamic causes, collectively confronting foreign interference and rejecting extremism and terrorism.

In this regard, Dr. Al-Zayani expressed his appreciation for the keynote speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad during his participation in the 32nd Arab Summit in Jeddah, noting the royal support for the establishment of a renewed and balanced regional system that guarantees stability and prosperity for the region. And promoting the values ​​of human coexistence and religious rapprochement across its countries.

He referred to the pivotal role that Bahrain played over the past four decades as an active partner in increasing Gulf achievements, stressing the Kingdom’s keenness to advance the process of achieving economic, developmental, security and social integration, and to complete the requirements of the unified army. order.

He affirmed Bahrain’s firm support for the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, regarding the promotion of joint Gulf action. He affirmed the Kingdom’s appreciation for the Kingdom’s pioneering role in uniting the Gulf and Arab ranks, and its diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives aimed at preserving regional security and stability, preserving the sovereignty of the GCC countries and their unified positions, and consolidating their partnership with the Gulf states. Dr. Al-Zayani also praised the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council, Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, and all employees of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council, for their fruitful efforts in following up the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council.
