Bahrain, Jordan review ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation

Manama, Jan. 10 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal stressed the depth of the strong and distinguished historical relations between Bahrain and Jordan, which contributed to achieving advanced levels of integrated coordination in all political, security, development and parliamentary fields.

Zainal, during his talks with the Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives, Abdul Karim Al-Daghmi, praised the consolidation of relations between the two brotherly countries, based on the keenness of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein.

The talks dealt with developing parliamentary relations, mechanisms of joint action, activating agreements and memoranda of understanding, and exchanging views on regional and international issues and topics of common interest.

The two speakers stressed that parliamentary cooperation has become more important to face common challenges, considering that there is a greater need for broader coordination of visions and positions, convergence of views, and holding more meetings through visits and all available means of communication.

Al-Daghmi stressed the depth of relations between Bahrain and Jordan, expressing his pride in coordinating visions on various regional and international issues.

He affirmed Jordan’s firm position in supporting the security and stability of Bahrain, and the decisions it takes to protect its national unity and sovereignty.

He also praised Bahrain’s leadership, government and people’s solidarity with Jordan, and its support for the measures it is taking to protect its achievements from any attempt to undermine them.
