Bahrain Foreign Ministry marks Bahrain Sports Day

Manama, February 10 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized today the Bahrain Sports Day event, with the participation of Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, senior officials and employees of the Ministry, ambassadors and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Employees of diplomatic missions accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain.



The designation of February 10, 2022 as a sports day for the Kingdom comes in line with the decision of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, on the initiative of His Majesty the King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs. His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the follow-up of the Bahrain Olympic Committee headed by the First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the General Sports Authority, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.



On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness and interest in the sports field and its support for practicing various types of sports because of their positive impact on people’s health.

Dr. Al-Zayani appreciated the Cabinet’s decision to allocate the tenth of February 2022 for the participation of employees in all ministries, authorities and government institutions in the activities of Bahrain Sports Day, describing this interest as reflecting the great interest the government attaches to public health. Body fitness as a prerequisite for well-being and productivity.



The sports program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs included a medical examination of blood pressure and blood sugar, in addition to walking.

In the same context, diplomatic missions and consulates of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad organized their own sports programs on the occasion of the Kingdom’s Sports Day, where various sports activities were practiced.
