Bahrain first globally to authorise, receive and administer the Valneva COVID-19 vaccine

Manama, April 14 (BNA): The Ministry of Health recommended that all eligible citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain wishing to take the Valneva COVID-19 vaccine go directly to one of the health centers it runs without the need for an appointment, starting today, Thursday, April 14, 2022.

This announcement comes after the Kingdom received the first batch of Valvina vaccine from France last March.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is the first country in the world to authorize, receive and administer the Valneva COVID-19 vaccine, which is produced by the European vaccine company Valneva.

The vaccine is approved for emergency use by the National Health Regulatory Authority, and approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) after it was found to meet the required safety, quality, and efficacy standards.

The Ministry of Health clarified that the list of health centers offering the Valneva vaccine and the protocol for the first and second doses, and the booster injection, can be found at: https://healthalert.gov.bh.
