Bahrain exports of national origin increase by 85%

Manama, November 16 (BNA) The Information and e-Government Authority said that the value of Bahrain’s national exports increased by 85% to 366 million Bahraini dinars during October 2021, compared to 198 million Bahraini dinars in October last year.

The foreign trade report for the month of October 2021 includes data on the trade balance, imports and exports (national origin) and re-exports.

The top ten countries in terms of value of exports of national origin purchased from Bahrain accounted for 67% of the total value, while the remaining countries accounted for 33%.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among the countries receiving Bahraini exports of national origin, importing 53 million Bahraini dinars from Bahrain. The United Arab Emirates came second with 37 million dinars, and the United States third with 33 million dinars.

Unwrought aluminum ingots emerged as the largest exported product during October 2021 with a value of BD101 million.

Agglomerated iron ores and concentrates came in second place with a value of 60 million dinars, and semi-finished iron and steel came in third place with a value of 26 million dinars.

According to the report, the total value of re-exports increased by 1% to reach BD 57.3 million during October 2021, compared to BD 56.6 million in October 2020.

The top ten countries accounted for 87% of the re-export value, while the remaining countries accounted for 13%. The United Arab Emirates ranked first with 17 million dinars, Saudi Arabia second with 11 million dinars, and Singapore third with 6 million dinars.

Gold bars are the first product that was re-exported from Bahrain with a value of 9.5 million dinars, aircraft spare parts came in second place with 8.8 million dinars, and four-wheel drive vehicles with 3.6 million dinars.

The value of imports increased by 24% to reach 452 million dinars during October 2021, compared to 365 million dinars for the same month in the previous year.

The top ten countries accounted for 73% of the value of imports, while the remaining countries accounted for 27%.

According to the report, Brazil ranked first in terms of imports to Bahrain with a total of 61 million dinars, China ranked second with 56 million dinars, and Australia ranked third with 54 million dinars.

Non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates emerged as the best product imported to Bahrain with a total value of 75 million dinars, while aluminum oxide came in second place with 48 million dinars, and gold ingots came in third place with 10 million dinars.

The trade balance, and the difference between exports and imports, amounted to a trade balance deficit of 29 million dinars during the month of October 2021, compared to 111 million dinars for the same month in the previous year, a decrease of 74%.
