Alba supports Bahrain’s national initiatives to combat climate change with ‘A Tree for Every Employee’

Manama, November 16 (BNA) Aluminum Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the region’s leading industrial companies, is committed to the recently announced goals and commitment of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister on climate change. Double the number of trees in the Kingdom by 2035 through “tree per employee” afforestation initiatives to enhance biodiversity and combat climate change.

Alba CEO Ali Al Baqali and the Executive Management team join Alba Chairman Sheikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa in the company’s initiative to distribute seedlings of various plants to all employees at the company’s doors from 14 to 15 November. 2021 with the aim of encouraging them to take the lead in enhancing Bahrain’s green cover and reducing its carbon footprint.

Commenting on the ‘A Tree for Every Employee’ initiative, Chairman Sheikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa said:

“We have to work collectively as a team to achieve the commitment of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister to increase Bahrain’s green cover during the 26th Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP26).

Going green is not an option, it is a way of life and what we do today is how we will make a difference tomorrow for Bahrain.”

CEO Ali Al Baqali added:

“If we really want to make a difference in the world, we must be different. As a socially responsible company in Bahrain, we must play a leading role in preserving and protecting our environment, and the ‘A Tree for Every Employee’ initiative is one of our tangible green initiatives to support national initiatives Bahrain, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

In addition, Alba’s executive and management team recently planted trees along the main roads around the smelter, and this has been followed by several departments planting trees in their areas within the company, supporting the “Forever Green” campaign being held under the guidance of Her Highness. Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and Chair of the Advisory Board of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD).
