Bahrain exports national origin products worth BD416 million during August 2022

Manama, September 14 (BNA) The Information and e-Government Authority issued its report on foreign trade in August 2022, including data on trade balance, imports and exports (national origin) and re-exports.


The value of imports increased by 5% to reach 520 million Bahraini dinars during August 2022, compared to 496 million dinars in the same month of the previous year. The top ten countries accounted for 73% of the value of imports, while the remaining countries accounted for 27%.


According to the report, China ranked first in terms of imports to Bahrain with a total of 90 million dinars, and Australia ranked second with 60 million dinars. Brazil came in third place with 49 million dinars.


Aluminum oxide emerged as the first product imported to Bahrain with a total value of 58 million Bahraini dinars, while non-agglomerated iron ores and its concentrates came in second place with 47 million dinars, and aircraft engine parts came in third place with a value of 23 million dinars.
The value of exports of national origin increased by 8% to reach 416 million dinars during August 2022, compared to 386 million dinars in the same month of the previous year. The top ten countries in terms of the value of exports of national origin purchased from Bahrain accounted for 81% of the total value, while the remaining countries accounted for 19%.


The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among the countries receiving Bahraini exports of national origin, as it imported 88 million Bahraini dinars from Bahrain. The United States of America came in second place with 57 million dinars, and the Netherlands third with 43 million dinars.


Unwrought aluminum ingots emerged as the largest products exported during August 2022 with a value of 161 million BD, agglomerated iron ores and concentrates came in second place with a value of 58 million BD and unalloyed aluminum wires with 19 million BD.


The total re-export value increased by 14% to reach BD 65 million during August 2022 compared to BD 58 million for the same month in the previous year. The top ten countries accounted for 83% of the re-export value, while the remaining countries accounted for 17%. Saudi Arabia ranked first with 14 million dinars, the United Arab Emirates ranked second with 13 million dinars, and Hong Kong ranked third with 6 million dinars.


Human medicine vaccines are the first product that was re-exported from Bahrain with a value of 9 million dinars, while other wrist watches of non-precious metal came in second place with a value of 5 million dinars, and Turbo jets came in third place with a value of 4 million dinars.


The trade balance, the difference between exports and imports, recorded a decrease in the value of the deficit, which amounted to 38 million dinars during August 2022, compared to 53 million dinars for the same month of the previous year, with an improvement in the trade balance by 27%.
