Bahrain exports BD460 million worth of national origin products in May

Manama, June 19 (BNA) The Information and e-Government Authority issued its report on foreign trade for the month of May 2022, including data on trade balance, imports and exports (national origin) and re-exports.

The value of imports increased by 29% to reach BD518 million during May 2022, compared to BD402 million for the same month in the previous year. The top ten countries accounted for 72% of the value of imports, while the remaining countries accounted for 28%.

According to the report, Australia ranked first in terms of imports to Bahrain with a total of 71 million dinars, China ranked second with 69 million dinars, and Brazil in third place with 63 million dinars.

The other aluminum oxide came as the best product imported to Bahrain with a total value of BD70 million, while non-agglomerated iron ore and its concentrates came in second place with BD54 million, and uncalcined petroleum coke came in third place with a value of BD18 million.

The value of exports of national origin increased by 62% to reach 460 million Bahraini dinars during the month of May 2022, compared to 283 million Bahraini dinars for the same month in the previous year. The top ten countries in terms of value of exports of national origin purchased from Bahrain accounted for 75% of the total value, while the remaining countries accounted for 25%.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among the countries receiving Bahraini exports of national origin, importing 90 million Bahraini dinars from Bahrain. While the United States of America came in second place with 64 million dinars and Italy in third place with 42 million dinars.

Unwrought aluminum ingots came on top of the products exported during the month of May 2022 with a value of 189 million dinars, agglomerated iron ore and its concentrates came second with a value of 73 million dinars, and aluminum wires with a value of 18 million dinars.

The total re-export value increased by 5% to reach BD 57 million during the month of May 2022, compared to BD 55 million for the same month in the previous year. The top ten countries accounted for 86% of the re-export value, while the remaining countries accounted for 14%. Singapore ranked first with 15 million dinars, the United Arab Emirates second with 9.5 million dinars, and Saudi Arabia ranked third with 8.6 million dinars.

Parts of aircraft engines came in the first place re-exported from Bahrain with a value of 18 million dinars, and four-wheel drive vehicles with a value of 2.9 million dinars came in second place, and gold bullion with a value of 2.3 million Bahraini dinars.

The trade balance, the difference between exports and imports, recorded a decrease in the value of the deficit, totaling one million dinars during May 2022, compared to 64 million dinars for the same month in the previous year, with an improvement in the trade balance by 99%.
