Manama, May 10 (BNA): Shura Council Speaker Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh received Shaheen Abdullayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The ambassador conveyed the greetings of Sohiba Jafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan and Chair of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The Shura Speaker stressed keenness to consolidate and strengthen parliamentary relations between the Kingdom and Azerbaijan.
He said that the bilateral visits and meetings contributed to advancing cooperation and creating more opportunities to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Al-Saleh praised the efforts made by the Azerbaijani National Assembly and the keenness it showed to hold the network meeting in the Kingdom on the sidelines of the meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) last March.
Ambassador Abdullayev praised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s success in hosting the 146th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and expressed his appreciation to the legislative authority for its efforts in hosting the largest parliamentary gathering, which reflects the Kingdom’s great attraction to major international gatherings and conferences.
