Bahrain attends CIFG meeting remotely

Manama, December 9 (BNA) A Bahraini delegation headed by the Head of Strategic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Nancy Abdullah Jamal, participated in the fifteenth meeting of the Counter-ISIS Financing Group of the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh.

Specialists working in files related to combating terrorist financing from the Financial Investigation Department at the Ministry of Interior also participated in the virtual session.

During the meeting, Bahrain stressed the importance of combating the financing of terrorism, extremism and violence, and addressing all forms of financing used by terrorist organizations and their financiers.

It highlighted the need to dry up its sources of funding in view of the most important pillars of its foreign policy, which spreads a culture of peace throughout the world.

Bahrain also expressed its keenness to actively participate in various regional and international forums that would coordinate international efforts and exchange experiences, as well as follow up on compliance with stable international obligations.

He stressed the need to take measures that would contribute to combating the financing of terrorism and drying up its sources of financing, believing in the importance of joint international action in combating and eliminating terrorism, extremism and violence and promoting peace and security in the region. the whole world.

The delegations participating in the meeting discussed several topics and files related to addressing ways to combat ISIS financing.
