Bahrain a beacon of peace and tolerance, Foreign Minister

Manama, April 4 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa announced that His Majesty the King has set a human model in promoting tolerance, dialogue, understanding and peaceful coexistence between cultures and religions.

He praised the royal approach aimed at further strengthening the international partnership to settle disputes peacefully, reject violence and intolerance, and promote collective action to achieve security, peace, prosperity and sustainable development in the world.

The minister made these statements on the eve of the International Day of Conscience, which is celebrated annually on April 5, and adopted by the United Nations in 2019, following an invitation from the late Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

He pointed out that Bahrain realizes the importance of calling for a culture of peace to end wars, defuse tensions and settle regional and international crises and conflicts through dialogue, negotiations and peaceful means.

He stressed the need to strengthen the spirit of human brotherhood and international solidarity, promote justice and equality, and achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East and the world by rejecting extremism, hatred and terrorism, and respecting rights and freedoms and religious and cultural diversity. Coexistence for the good of humanity.

Dr. Al-Zayani praised the initiatives of His Majesty the King and the steps of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which strengthened Bahrain’s position as a beacon of peace, tolerance and dialogue.

He referred to the launch of the Bahrain Declaration, the establishment of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence, and the King Hamad Chair for Dialogue, Peace and Interfaith Coexistence Studies at the Italian University of La Sapienza.

He referred to the contributions of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation in providing development and relief assistance to countries and peoples affected by disasters and crises.

He also outlined Bahrain’s hosting of the Manama Dialogue and the launch of the “King Hamad International Award for Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence” in conjunction with the Bahrain Dialogue Forum, which was attended by His Holiness Pope Francis.

He renewed the ministry’s firm commitment to His Majesty’s royal directives, and the government’s endeavor to promote national values ​​and consolidate relations with other countries, based on respect for other countries, sovereignty and cultural identity, and non-interference in internal affairs.
