BAC to conduct periodic emergency exercise at Bahrain International Airport

Manama, March 19 (BNA): In line with the commitment and efforts of the Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and manager of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), to maintain the highest level of safety standards towards emergency response at Bahrain International Airport. BIA, a large-scale emergency exercise will be conducted on Monday 20 March from 7pm to 12am at Bahrain International Airport.

The exercise will be carried out in cooperation with strategic partners, the Bahraini Civil Aviation Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the Airport Police, the General Department of Investigation and Criminal Evidence, the Airport Customs, the General Administration of Civil Defense, and the General Traffic Department. Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (Airport), Operations Department, Police Aviation Wing Department, Public Security Health Center, Women’s Police General Department, and Bahrain Airport Services (BAS).

Ambulances and security vehicles will notice heavy traffic around the airport during the exercise. Bahrain Airport Company assures the public that this routine exercise will have minimal impact on airport operations and that there is no cause for concern about activities that may be seen in the vicinity.

Bahrain International Airport hosts the training every two years in accordance with regulations issued by Bahrain’s Civil Aviation Affairs and global industry procedures implemented by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The exercise will put an airport emergency plan to the test and assess the capabilities, readiness and effectiveness of emergency and rescue services at Bahrain International Airport in dealing with potential incidents.
