At STEMposium, students respond successfully to challenges

Manama, Dec. 14 (BNA): Bahrain School students participated in STEMposium, a multi-day full-fledged US Department of Defense emission experiment to enhance and test STEM capabilities.

In an 18-team competition in Wiesbaden, Germany, students worked in group teams of six peers to solve a real-world scenario and find solutions to STEM problems and issues.

The overall theme was to see which team could produce the most appropriate plan for a sustainable colony on the moon.

Content experts provided the terms, mentoring and supporting the student who designed, created, and problem-solved.

“We had six students who participated and split into six different teams for the Greek letter,”

said Gayle Laron, career and technical education educator.

“All of our students did an amazing job, exceptionally well within their teams. Throughout the week-long event, in addition to the main theme, students were challenged in various ways such as completing an engineering challenge and a robotics competition to name a few.” Larhorne, CTE, PE and Health team leader who accompanied the students to Germany.
