At least eight killed in road accident in Vietnam

Hanoi, Feb. 14 (BNA): At least eight people were killed after a truck collided with a tractor and a trailer at an intersection in Vietnam on Tuesday, a government official said.

“Six people were killed on the spot, two died in hospital, and 12 others were injured, including three in critical condition,” Deputy Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee Khawat Viet Hong told dpa.

He said the two cars were traveling in opposite directions when they collided at an intersection in central Quang Nam province.

Most of the 20 passengers on the truck were on their way to the hospital for medical check-ups. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
