Assistant Undersecretary: 75% of Khutwa project beneficial are women

Manama, Dec. 22 (BNA): The Bahraini Nahdet Fatat Organization organized a forum entitled “Expanding the Insurance Umbrella for Women Working in the Informal Sector”.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development at the Ministry of Social Development, Enas Al-Majed, attended.

Al-Majed reviewed the Kingdom’s keenness to help productive families through government initiatives to support them because of their important role in Bahrain’s economy.

She praised the agenda of the forum, which highlights the importance of empowering women in the production line, noting that the percentage of women who obtained the registration of a productive home and who are registered in the step project for home projects affiliated with the ministry constitutes 75% as the productive families project. It is a source of increasing family income.

The Assistant Undersecretary stated that the Ministry has embraced productive families since 1987 and continued to do so by organizing exhibitions and training courses. She was also briefed on the advantages of the Khatwa project by obtaining the registration of a productive home, benefiting from the services of productive family centers, showrooms and marketing halls, in addition to other benefits.

Al-Majed stressed the ministry’s keenness to secure social protection for every individual in society, especially women, by organizing empowerment programs and training courses to improve their productive skills in order to live a decent life.
