Algosaibi grabs double pole for Porsche Sprint Challenge races

Manama, March 19 (BNA) Saudi Arabia’s Fahad Al-Gosaibi took first place today in the two races this weekend in the final round of the 2021/2022 Porsche Sprint Middle East Challenge at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.

Al-Gosaibi scored the fastest lap in two minutes 02.095 seconds to top the qualifying table and take first place in the opening race of 11 laps scheduled for this afternoon, starting at 4.30 pm.

He then set his second best time of 2:02,209 to take first place in the second race, which will be held on Sunday at 3.10pm.

Dan van Kuijk of the Netherlands finished second with a 2:02.174 best lap to secure the other front row grid position for the first race. Al-Gosaibi, Bandar Al-Esai, came in third with a time of 2: 02.187.

It is scheduled to start their successor in the top eight places Thierry Vermeulen and Maurice Schoring, both from the Netherlands, and the German Richard Wagner, James Dorlein from Great Britain, and Bahraini Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.

In the second race, along with Algosaibi, Alesayi will be in the front row for all of Saudi Arabia. Alesayi had best second lap 2: 02.408.

Schering qualified third with a time of 2:02.629 for his second best lap. Vermeulen will take fourth, while Dorlein, Wagner, Van Kuijk and Sheikh Ali will complete the top eight.
