Alba signs agreement with Mitsubishi Power & SEPCO III as EPC contractor for Block 4 in Power Station 5

Alba signed a full turnkey contract today with Mitsubishi Power, a power solutions brand of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), and the SEPCO III consortium to expand Power Plant 5 in Alba, adding new 680.9 MW combined cycle gas turbines. power unit.


Under the terms of the contract, the Mitsubishi Power and SEPCO III consortium will be responsible for the design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the 680.9 megawatt (MW) combined-cycle gas turbine block. Mitsubishi Power will supply a combined cycle power plant, which consists of an M701JAC gas turbine, an air-cooled version of the J Series gas turbines and a steam turbine. To meet future global decarbonization needs, JAC gas turbines are capable of using up to 30% hydrogen fuel by volume, reaching 100% hydrogen fuel in the future with minimal modification to existing infrastructure.
