Cairo, October 27 (BNA) The President of Al-Azhar University, Dr. Salama Daoud, confirmed that the upcoming visit of the Imam of Al-Azhar, the head of the Council of Muslim Elders, His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Al-Sheikh. – Al-Tayeb to the Kingdom of Bahrain next month to participate in the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue, which will be held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, coinciding with the historic official visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the Kingdom. At the invitation of His Majesty the King, it is considered an essential step on the path of dialogue between East and West. He said that the visit reflects the growing and influential role of the greatest Islamic institution in the world to spread peace and achieve religious coexistence throughout the world.
Dr. Salama Daoud praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its continuous approach to promoting interfaith dialogue and coexistence, in cooperation with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, the Catholic Church, the Muslim Council of Elders and a number of international institutions. . He stressed the great interest that His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb attaches to humanitarian issues and the promotion of peace and coexistence among all people. He praised the efforts of the Muslim Council of Elders in launching the “East-West Dialogue” initiative to promote dialogue, tolerance and cooperation between peoples.
About 200 prominent religious figures are participating in the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue, which will be held on November 3 and 4, along with prominent intellectual and media figures.
