Airbus, based in Toulouse, France, said it received 507 net orders last year after excluding cancellations. Most were for aircraft in the A320neo family of single-aisle aircraft. The company said it ended last year with a backlog of 7,082 aircraft orders.
CEO Guillaume Faury said the requests indicate that airlines are confident in the growth of air travel after COVID-19. He said that “with continued uncertainty”, Airbus is on the right track to raise production rates during this year.
Airbus will announce its 2021 financial results on February 17th.
