Abu Dhabi hosts contemporary Japanese print show

Abu Dhabi, June 15 (BNA) The UAE and Japan celebrate fifty years of diplomatic relations through the Abu Dhabi Festival “Diversity and Independence: Editions of Contemporary Japanese Painters”.

Scheduled to run through July 7, the traveling show is supervised by Koji Takizawa of the Machida City Museum of Graphic Art in Tokyo and presents the work of ten artists who experimented with prints in the contemporary art world in the 1970s.

The exhibition is part of the Abu Dhabi Festival 2022, which is held under the theme “Shaping the UAE: Creativity, Innovation, and Fun”.

“Audiences in the UAE are an opportunity to experience the beauty of contemporary Japanese art and discover the talent of its influential artists,” said Huda Al-Khamis-Kano, founder and artistic director of the Abu Dhabi Festival.

“I hope this exhibition will make a new contribution to promoting cultural exchanges between Japan and the UAE,” said Japan’s Ambassador to the UAE Akio Isumata.
