6th edition of BIAS kicks off, celebrating a decade of excellence

Manama, November 8 (BNA) The sixth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow 2022 kicked off today at Sakhir Air Base under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and will continue until November 11.

The Bahrain International Fair, established in 2010 and supervised by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of BIAS, celebrates its 10th anniversary.

The exhibition provides international companies with an effective opportunity to meet with decision makers in the aviation sector in the region and learn about the various investment opportunities that they can take advantage of. It also highlights the potential to benefit from Bahrain’s geographical location and strong regulatory environment by establishing branches in the Kingdom as the headquarters for regional operations.

Also attending are high-level delegations from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Germany, France and other countries, where the ministers of transport and directors of civil aviation met with the chief executives of the aviation and aviation sectors.

This year’s exhibition focuses on direct communication as a primary objective and personal interaction between exhibitors and visitors through an integrated program prepared for civilian and military delegations visiting the exhibition to put them in direct contact with companies and decision-makers throughout the three days of the exhibition.

The exhibition will feature more than 200 high-ranking civilian and military delegations, as well as senior executives from global airlines and leading global airlines as well as dignitaries and leaders from the private and public sectors.

The Saudi Falcons team of the Royal Saudi Air Force and acrobatic cavalry teams of the UAE Air Force are participating in this year’s edition to present exciting shows in the skies of Sakhir during the three-day event, along with the British Royal Air Force. Team Red Arrows, debuting on the 10th anniversary of BIAS.

There will be a separate area for the general public, families and children where they can enjoy exciting shows in the skies of Sakhir, along with performances by folk bands and local musicians. The family entertainment area will include a heritage village organized by the Ministry of Social Development, which will display a variety of local products made in Bahrain, recreational games for children, and various competitions, in addition to the participation of the Ministry of Tourism through the institution. Adult tickets for the Family Zone for 12 years and above are priced at BHD 5 per day, while children under 12 years old will be free to enter. Tickets can be purchased and used on one of the three days of the air show. They are sold in all Bahrain Post outlets, and can also be purchased directly from the event site in Sakhir.
