World’s biggest Swiss flag unfurled on Alpine Cliff

Bern, July 31 (BNA): Teams of workers raised the world’s largest Swiss flag on a slope in the Alps on Sunday to mark the country’s National Day on August 1.

The 6,400-square-meter (68,890-square-foot) sign bearing a white cross in a red field weighed about 700 kilograms (1,540 pounds) and took 600 hours to make, Heimgartner said.
