Workshop to identify government’s future priorities in the legislative field held

Manama, July 17 (BNA) The second workshop was held here today to determine the government’s priorities in the future.

The workshop, which focuses on the legislative axis, comes in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to hold workshops to identify the main priorities that will shape the future aspirations of the government.


It is the second of five workshops dedicated to identifying the future aspirations of government work. It focuses on the following priorities, namely infrastructure and environment, legislation, social service work, finance and economics, as well as government performance and digital transformation.


The workshop was chaired by the Minister of Parliament Affairs, Ghanem bin Fadl Al-Buainain, which was attended by undersecretaries of ministries, assistant undersecretaries and relevant directors who are concerned with the legislative system in government departments.


In his speech to the meeting, the minister indicated that the workshop on the legislative issue aims to enhance the outcomes of government work in order to achieve excellence in its performance, improve the quality of its services, and meet the aspirations of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty. Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.


He said that it is also in line with the directives of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister to engage relevant officials from government departments in identifying the main priorities that will shape the future aspirations of the government.

Minister Al-Buainain indicated that the ongoing efforts to lay the foundations for fruitful cooperation between various government departments aim to strengthen the national legislative system and contribute to its development, expressing his hope to achieve more successes and achievements at the legislative level during the coming period. The next stage is to consolidate the Kingdom’s leading position in this field.


He stressed that the legislative axis is one of the main priorities of the Kingdom, in line with its keenness to consolidate justice, equality and the principle of the rule of law, as well as maintain security, and support the democratic process through verification legislation. national interests.


The Minister of Parliament Affairs revealed the identification of four future policies, which will be implemented through 17 initiatives, in the legislative axis. It works to enhance the concept of justice, consolidate popular freedoms, develop legislation to ensure keeping pace with the comprehensive development process, develop the justice system and litigation services, set regulatory procedures, and ensure integration and coordination in developing legislation.


He said that the outputs of the workshop on the legislative issue will be highlighted during the “Future Priorities” workshop chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.


It is worth noting that the workshop coordination meeting was held recently. During the meeting, the perceptions of the relevant government departments were received, sorted, classified and approved by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs prior to the workshop.
