London, November 20 (BUS): Raul Jimenez scored the only goal in Wolverhampton’s victory over West Ham United with a 1-0 home win in the Premier League on Saturday, the Associated Press reported.
Jimenez scored his third goal of the season in the 58th minute after Daniel Budens, who was saved by goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski twice earlier in the second half.
It was West Ham’s first away loss in the league since April and ended a four-game winning streak.
For Wolves led by Bruno Lagg, it was their fifth win in seven games and lifted them to sixth place in the table, while David Moyes’ Hammers remained third ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal later on Saturday.
West Ham thought they had gone ahead just before the break, but Kurt Zouma’s header was called off for a foul.
Three minutes into the second half, Fabianski managed to go down and convert Bodens’ shot around the post, and the goalkeeper saved again to thwart the Portuguese in the 56th minute.
Fabianski finally lost when Bodens hit the ball to Jimenez, who hit the ball into the bottom corner of the edge of the penalty area.
