Winners of eGovernment Excellence Award to be announced October 27th

Manama, October 24 (BNA) The 11th eGovernment Excellence Award ceremony will be held on October 27, 2021 under the patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Information and Communication Technology, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa. Organizing Committee announced. This comes after the recent announcement that the award jury will evaluate the applications submitted by bodies and individuals from the public and private sectors.

The event, which is held every two years, celebrates ICT initiatives and innovative electronic solutions that support the Kingdom’s digital transformation strategy and help build a knowledge-based economy.

Categories for the public sector include Best Website, Best Inter-Government E-Service, Best Practices in Community E-Participation, Best Integrated Services for Individuals or Businesses, and Best Application for Smart Devices. For the private sector, the categories are the best application for smart devices and the best e-service, while citizens can compete for the best e-concept and e-citizen.

This year nearly 260 entries were submitted by entities and individuals. This award comes as an affirmation of Bahrain’s support for innovation in the ICT sector, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has accelerated the government’s digital transformation plans around the world. Bahrain continued its course to meet the needs of individuals and entities, as identified prior to the outbreak of the pandemic. The global crisis prompted the Bahraini society to innovate services that can be accessed through digital channels, and to provide products and services that support the national infrastructure.

The eGovernment Excellence Award provides a platform for individuals and entities to exchange ideas that lead to improved performance and sustainable development, which in turn supports the Kingdom’s digital transformation and achieves the ambitious 2030 vision goals.
