WHO Regional Director: Bahrain’s robust health system role model for protecting public health

Manama, July 5 (BNA) Health Minister Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan affirmed that the Kingdom will continue to strengthen its partnership with the World Health Organization to achieve common health goals.

She stressed the importance of continuous effective cooperation with the World Health Organization in supporting efforts to develop the health sector and ensure its sustainability at all levels, especially with regard to joint efforts to combat diseases and epidemics.

While receiving here today the Director of the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean of the World Health Organization, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Walid Khalifa Al-Manea, the Minister praised the pivotal role played by the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean to support the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean. health systems of the countries of the region.

She emphasized that Bahrain’s partnership with the World Health Organization was strengthened after the opening of the 152nd office of the World Health Organization in the Kingdom a year ago, which crowns the distinguished bilateral relations that have lasted for decades and expands the areas of cooperation and joint coordination.

She noted the great support that the health sector enjoys in the Kingdom, thanks to the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, out of their firm belief that human health is a top priority for all.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari praised the efforts of the health system in the Kingdom, pointing to its distinguished role in achieving common health goals.

He praised the success of the strong health system in Bahrain in combating the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, to become a regional and global model for developing proactive plans and implementing preventive measures to protect the health of citizens and residents with high professionalism. .

He said that this is evidence of the success of the Kingdom’s visions and plans in the health field.

The Director of the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean and senior health officials conducted field inspection visits to health facilities in the Kingdom, including the Public Health Department, the National Genome Center, the Salmaniya Medical Complex, and the Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa Health Center in Al Haniniya, Riffa, where They have been informed of this.
