Geneva, August 18 (BNA) Today, Thursday, the World Health Organization recommended the use of the COVID-19 vaccine produced by the French pharmaceutical company Valneva (VLS PA).
The UN agency has also recommended the use of a second booster dose for some individuals at risk of serious disease, Reuters reports.
However, this does not constitute a general recommendation for all adults to be vaccinated, and is intended to avoid severe disease and death in the highest-risk population.
The recommendations come after the World Health Organization’s Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on immunization held a meeting last week.
