West Ham banned from selling away tickets for one UEFA game

London, November 145 (BNA): West Ham were prevented from selling tickets for their next away game in the UEFA competition due to fans’ problems during the Europa League trip to Genk.

The Premier League club was also fined a total of 34,500 euros ($39,000) after a 2-2 draw in Belgium on November 4, the Associated Press reported.

According to a statement issued by UEFA, a ban on tickets and a fine of 30,000 euros was imposed due to “fan disturbances”.

An additional fine of €4,500 was also imposed for “throwing things” by traveling fans.

West Ham are scheduled to travel to Rapid Vienna in the Europa League on November 25.

According to Hammers’ official website, 1,700 tickets have been sold out to visit the Allianz Stadion in the Austrian capital.

West Ham top Group H in the European League, after their draw at Luminus Arena in Genk earlier this month, which made them have 10 points out of a possible 12.

Fans’ problems also erupted when Rapid Vienna lost 2-0 at the London Stadium on October 30, leading to three arrests.

The Hammers, led by David Moyes, who are third in the Premier League table ahead of Saturday’s trip to Wolverhampton, completed the group stage of the European Championship at home to Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb on December 9.
