Victorious-KHK team shines in Bahrain’s Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship

Manama, Dec. 9 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Victorious-KHK team was led by His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness. Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Christian Blumenfelt, in winning second place in the Bahraini Ironman. 70.3 Middle East Championship.

1,061 athletes from 77 countries competed in the Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship, which is being hosted by the Kingdom today.

The outstanding performance of HH Sheikh Nasser in cycling, HH Sheikh Khaled in swimming and Christian Blumenfelt in running contributed to the success of the team.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the outstanding results achieved thanks to the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad and Christian Blumenfelt in leading the team to the podium.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser affirmed that the success of the sixth edition of the Bahrain Ironman 70.3 Championship for the Middle East adds to the Kingdom’s record of achievements in hosting huge international sporting events thanks to its qualified competencies and organizational skills.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser finished the cycling race for a distance of 90.1 km in two hours, 10 minutes and 42 seconds, while His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad was able to finish the swimming competition in 41 minutes and 34 seconds. Meanwhile, Christian Blumenfelt cruised to victory after clocking 1 hour 8 minutes 4 seconds.

Overall, Victorious-KHK finished the tournament in 4 hours, 3 minutes, and 19 seconds.

Vincent Lewis, of the Bahrain Victorious 13 team, won the Bahrain Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship, just five days after successfully winning the Clash Daytona triple title in Florida.

Lewis finished the all-around in 3 hours, 38 minutes, and 2 seconds, finishing swimming in 23 minutes, 6 seconds, cycling in 2 hours, 1 minute, 26 seconds, and running in 1 hour, 9 minutes, 57 seconds.

In the women’s competition, Marjolene Pieri won the race with a time of 4:05:54. Van Covorden finished second, with a time of 4:07:11, and Didericks came third, with a time of 4:07:43.

The “Expo”, which was held on the sidelines of the Iron Man 70.3 Middle East Championship, grabbed the spotlight, as visitors toured the exhibition, which included various activities and corners to sell clothes and special needs related to Iron Man races.
