US Congressman stresses continuous support for Bahrain’s security and stability

Washington, June 16 (BNA) House Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal and the parliamentary delegation held a meeting with Representative Adam Smith, Chairman of the Armed Forces Committee in the US House of Representatives.



The meeting discussed parliamentary cooperation and exchange of experiences on legislation related to enhancing security and stability and combating terrorism, violence and extremism.



Zainal stressed that the strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United States is witnessing continuous progress, whether at the level of trade and economic exchange, or at the level of military and defense cooperation.



She noted the important American role in contributing to achieving security and stability in the Middle East and the world, through alliances with countries in the region to secure maritime traffic and ensure the flow of global trade routes.




The spokesman pointed out that the presence of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in the territorial waters of the Kingdom demonstrates the extent of the exceptional relations, and expresses the size of the close relations and joint efforts directed to achieve the common interests of the two countries.




Representative Smith stressed that Bahrain is one of the most prominent friendly countries of the United States, in light of the distinguished and long-standing alliances between the two countries, stressing the continued support for the security and stability of Bahrain and the Middle East region.



He praised Bahrain’s role in securing navigation in the Arabian Gulf, in light of the paths of close cooperation with the US Navy, considering that joint work represents a model for international partnerships to ensure the flow of global trade.
