UoB President receives BSU delegation, Ottawa University President

Manama, Jan. 15 (BNA): University of Bahrain President Dr. Jawaher Shaheen Al-Madhahki affirmed that the University of Bahrain continues to invest in higher education as one of the pillars of comprehensive and sustainable development, by focusing on the quality of education. Supporting creativity and innovation and intensifying efforts to publish scientific research in scientific journals and register patents.

Dr. Al Mudhahki said, during his meeting with officials from Bridgewater State University here today, that university education has witnessed outstanding achievements that keep pace with scientific and technical progress, in terms of upgrading innovative teaching and learning methods and outputs, as well as developing curricula and evaluation methods and highlighting the University of Bahrain’s keenness to benefit from practical solutions, initiatives and proposals. The Academic Director of Global Programs at BSU, Professor Jabbar Al-Obeidi, reviewed the academic disciplines offered by his university, and the innovative learning experiences inside and outside the classroom, which focus on the student as the basis of the educational process, ensuring that the graduate has a comprehensive experience in terms of knowledge, competencies and skills.

The President of Oprah University also received here today the President of the University of Ottawa, Jack Fremont, with whom she discussed areas of research cooperation, exchange of experiences, professors and students, topics of common interest in the academic and research aspects, and new directions in the world. Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al Mudhahki confirmed that the University of Bahrain is keen to benefit from the experience of the University of Ottawa in its various dimensions as it is the largest bilingual university (studying in English and French) in the world.

She pointed out that the University of Bahrain, which offers courses in Arabic and English in its nine faculties, is also interested in teaching languages, as it contains several language centers.
