U.S. embassy, American Chamber of Commerce host sixth U.S. alumni reception

Manama, Nov. 18 (BNA): The American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain, in cooperation with the US Embassy, ​​hosted the sixth annual US Alumni Network reception to honor graduates of American universities and educational exchange programs.

“Study and exchange partnerships are a unique facet of the strong and deep relationship between the United States and Bahrain,” said US Ambassador Stephen Bondy. “Our willingness to send our citizens to each other’s countries to learn and grow represents a deep degree of trust and trust.”

“The fact that these exchanges are both ongoing and expanding demonstrates the commitment of the United States and Bahrain to our mutual success.”

“Alumni of the United States in Bahrain include government and business leaders at the highest levels and across all industries who have made significant contributions to Bahrain,” said AmCham President Qais Al-Zoubi in his welcoming address.

“There are also more recent graduates who are on their way to making a valuable impact of their own. The intent of the Alumni Welcome is to celebrate and honor a community of leaders who share the unique experience of studying in an American school and bring their knowledge, skills and insights to benefit Bahrain as well as to provide the opportunity to reconnect And enjoy networking across generations.”

The theme for this year’s reception was “Renewing Connection,” which was especially poignant given the two-year hiatus since the last graduate reception due to Covid.

About 200 alumni representing more than 100 schools attended the event. Educational exchange programs have included the International Visitor Leaders Program (IVLP), Fulbright Scholars, and the Youth Exchange Study (YES) Program.
