Twitter Blue ‘probably’ coming back end of next week, Musk says

Musk says Twitter Blue will “probably” return next weekend<br />

San Francisco, Nov. 12 (BNA) Billionaire owner Elon Musk said in a tweet on Twitter on Saturday that “Blu will be back” likely “next weekend.”

Twitter on Friday temporarily suspended its recently announced $8 blue check subscription service on Friday as fake accounts surged.

The coveted blue check mark was previously reserved for verified accounts of politicians, famous personalities, journalists and other public figures. But the subscription option, open to anyone willing to pay, was rolled out earlier this week to help Twitter boost revenue while Musk struggles to retain advertisers, Reuters reported.

Several users reported on Friday that the new blue check mark subscription option had disappeared, while a source told Reuters that the offer had been dropped.

“To combat impersonation, we have added an ‘official’ label to some accounts,” the Twitter support account – which is labeled ‘official’ – tweeted on Friday.

The poster was originally presented on Wednesday – but Musk was “killed” only hours later.

On Thursday, Musk warned, in his first company-wide email, that Twitter would not be able to “survive the next economic slowdown” if it failed to raise subscription revenue to offset lower advertising income, three people who have seen the letter told Reuters.
