Toyota second-quarter quarterly profit climbs 48%, lifts outlook

Tokyo, Nov 4 (BNA): Toyota Motor Corp. reported a 48% rise in its second-quarter operating profit and raised its profit forecast on Thursday as it benefited from rebounding auto demand and a weaker yen.

Refinitiv data showed operating profit of 750 billion yen in the three months to September 30 was above the average forecast of 593.3 billion yen based on estimates from nine analysts, Refinitiv data showed.

Toyota raised its full-year profit forecast to 2.8 trillion yen from 2.5 trillion yen. Refinitiv data showed that this forecast is below an average profit of 2.92 trillion yen based on forecasts of 21 analysts.

The maker of the RAV4 SUV crossover and Prius hybrid has lowered its full-year sales target to 10.29 million vehicles from 10.55 million.
