Tourism Minister meets BCCI Chairman

Manama, October 27 (BNA) Tourism Minister Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Sirafi stressed the importance of the role of the private sector in investing in tourism projects.


She pointed out that the Kingdom possesses historical sites, islands, museums, tourist resorts, hotels with a global reputation and high-level infrastructure, making it a major tourist attraction.


This came during the minister’s meeting with the President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Samir Abdullah Nass.


The minister reviewed tourism plans and projects that will contribute significantly to increasing the number of tourists and visitors to Bahrain.


She praised the efforts of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its keenness to develop cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.


The minister praised the efforts of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry to upgrade the private sector and work to enhance rates of economic development.


The Chairman of the Board of Directors highlighted Bahrain’s tourist attractions and its great elements that make it a regional and international tourist destination.


He pointed out that tourism is one of the most important economic pillars, and that it is an industry that contributes to providing income for many countries.
