Tottenham held 0-0 by Brentford to dent top-4 chances in EPL

London, April 24 (BNA): Tottenham failed to hit the ball in the net for the second consecutive game in a 0-0 draw with Brentford to undermine hopes of reaching the top four places in the English Premier League.

After Arsenal moved up to fourth with a win over Manchester United at the start of lunchtime, Tottenham manned a sub-par performance in west London and once again seemed devoid of all attacking creativity – such as the 1-0 loss to Brighton last weekend.

It could have been worse, with Evan Toni denied due to the woodwork twice as Brentford – whose team included former Tottenham player Christian Eriksen – nearly scored four straight wins, The Associated Press reported.

Spurs’ front three from Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevsky have been hit again and it looks like Spurs, who have scored a slew of goals in recent weeks, have been rediscovered.

However, their top four hopes remain in their hands, as they still have Arsenal to play at home in a match that looks set to be crucial in the race to qualify for the Champions League.

Tottenham are fifth, two points behind Arsenal, and four points behind Manchester United, who are sixth.
